Last week, my friend and I were sitting at Cafe, having one of those conversations you only really have when there’s no rush—about where AI and ML are heading, and what specs make the most sense today for anyone serious about this space. He’s one of those rare people who understands both software and hardware deeply—whether it’s desktops, laptops, or mobile devices—and he was patiently walking me through all the nuances.
About 30 minutes into our conversation, someone at the next table overheard us. He jumped in, asked a few smart questions about mobile devices for his own use case, and within a few minutes, he and my friend exchanged contact info. It turns out this guy is genuinely interested in buying, and just like that, my friend had a hot prospect—without even trying to sell.
Here’s the simple but important lesson I was reminded of:
Knowledge is powerful. But knowledge shared is even more powerful.
Over the last month, I’ve been heads-down building a content calendar, writing the best articles I can for my audience. But sitting there in that moment, it clicked even harder—you can be the most knowledgeable person in the world, but if you never talk about what you know, no one will come find you. The market rewards not just skill, but the courage to show up, share, and engage.
If you know something valuable, don’t hide it. Talk about it. Write about it. Be visible.
The prospects will come.
